Skin Cancer, Keloid & Other Skin Issues Symptoms & Treatment
At our Surprise, AZ clinic, we offer specialized care for a wide range of skin conditions that impact various areas of the body. These include psoriasis, skin cancer, keloids, and warts.

Our medical team collaborates closely with family physicians to provide advanced skin cancer treatments. One such option is low-dose x-ray therapy — a proven method, especially effective for squamous cell carcinoma, that supports fast, non-invasive care.

Keloids, especially those resulting from piercings, are treated with precision techniques designed to reduce scarring and recurrence.
For individuals living with psoriasis, we develop customized care plans focused on reducing flare-ups, improving comfort, and supporting long-term skin health.
We also treat both common and plantar warts using proven medical approaches tailored to each case. Scroll below to learn more about our care for these and other dermatologic conditions.

Wart

Warts are small, benign skin growths caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV). While typically harmless, they can appear on many areas of the body — most commonly the hands and feet.
X-ray therapy is highly effective in targeting HPV-infected tissue. At our Surprise clinic, we treat persistent warts that haven’t responded to standard treatments like cryotherapy, laser therapy, or over-the-counter solutions. This method works by breaking down the infected skin tissue, allowing healthy new skin to regenerate in its place.
Some patients may notice temporary redness or dryness following treatment — this is normal and typically resolves on its own within a short period.

Psoriasis

Psoriasis is a long-term skin condition where the immune system triggers an overproduction of skin cells. This process leads to thickened, inflamed patches of skin that are often red and topped with silvery scales. While the elbows, knees, scalp, and lower back are commonly affected, symptoms can appear anywhere on the body.

This non-contagious condition is often accompanied by discomfort, including itching, burning, or pain. Though the exact cause remains unclear, both hereditary and environmental factors are believed to play a role. Treatment typically includes topical therapies, systemic medications, or a combination of both.

At our Surprise clinic, we use low-energy superficial x-ray therapy to calm inflammation and slow the excessive growth of skin cells. This targeted approach helps manage symptoms and restore healthier skin.

“I had suffered for 24 YEARS with pustular psoriasis on my foot. I tried everything and nothing worked out–only worked for a short time. After going to Heelex for treatment my foot has been clear for 2 years!!! Heelex changed my life. Thank you to Heelex and their amazing staff!”

Non-Melanoma Skin Cancer

Low-dose superficial X-ray therapy is an effective option for managing certain types of skin cancer, especially those near the surface like basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma. This form of radiation is precisely calibrated to reach only shallow layers of skin, helping eliminate cancer cells while sparing the deeper, healthy tissue beneath.

This non-surgical treatment is often chosen for patients who are not ideal candidates for surgery due to health concerns or the sensitive location of the lesion. It’s a safe and well-tolerated method that offers strong results with minimal disruption to the surrounding skin.

“I highly recommend Heelex for treatment of pain related to arthritis. I am a diabetic and I chose Heelex to treat a benign basal cell carcinoma. The treatment was painless and healed completely without any visible change in my skin. Absolutely thrilled with the result.”

Keloids
Keloids are firm, raised scars that form when the body produces excess collagen during the healing process. They often appear after minor skin trauma like piercings, cuts, or surgeries. While not dangerous, keloids can be uncomfortable and cosmetically distressing.

At our Surprise clinic, we use targeted superficial X-ray therapy to reduce keloid growth. This method slows down abnormal tissue development and encourages a smoother, more balanced healing process. It’s a helpful option for patients who haven’t seen success with corticosteroids, cryotherapy, or surgical removal — and it can provide lasting relief from discomfort like itching and tenderness.
