Our Story

In 2019, my partner—a practicing Radiation Oncologist—contacted me while visiting Europe, specifically England. He had come across a clinic dedicated exclusively to the use of radiation therapy for Dupuytren’s contracture—without cancer treatment and without high-dose radiation.

At the time, I believed such a model would not be feasible within the U.S. healthcare system.

I was mistaken.

Over the following year, we conducted extensive research and discovered that throughout Germany, Spain, and much of Europe, Low-Dose Radiation Therapy (LDRT) has long been used for a wide range of benign inflammatory and musculoskeletal conditions, including osteoarthritis, plantar fasciitis, bursitis, and other chronic disorders. These treatments are delivered at doses far below those used in oncology and have demonstrated favorable outcomes with minimal reported side effects. In many cases, LDRT has helped reduce or delay the need for surgical intervention.

This clinical practice is supported by a substantial and growing body of published medical literature.

What remained uncertain was whether such an approach could be responsibly and sustainably implemented in the United States—where healthcare adoption often depends on two critical factors: clinical acceptance and insurance recognition.

Further investigation revealed that prior to the modern oncology era, radiation therapy for benign disease was in fact utilized in the United States and was historically recognized by Medicare and other payers as medically necessary in selected conditions.

With that understanding, we made the decision to take a leap of faith and establish our first dedicated Low-Dose Radiation Therapy center—focused exclusively on benign disease.

In the years since, increasing U.S.-based research has continued to support the role of LDRT in inflammatory conditions. Major academic institutions, including the Cleveland Clinic, have published findings exploring low-dose radiation as a potential therapeutic option for plantar fasciitis, while universities such as Loyola and radiation physicians across the country have begun offering similar treatments within their practices.

Most importantly, we have been deeply encouraged by the outcomes experienced by our own patients.

We are grateful for the trust our patients place in us, and we remain committed to advancing thoughtful, evidence-based care while continuing this important clinical journey.
