Podiatry in Surprise, AZ — Same-Day Appointments. Walk-Ins Welcome.

Board-certified foot and ankle care from Dr. David Bates. 20+ years treating Arizona feet — from heel pain to Achilles tendinitis to stubborn warts. When conservative care isn't enough, our in-house low-dose therapy program is next door.

Meet Dr. David Bates, DPM

Dr. David Bates has been caring for Arizona feet since 2003 — over two decades of hands-on podiatric experience in the West Valley.

He treats the full range of foot and ankle conditions: heel pain, bunions, Achilles tendinitis, ingrown toenails, stubborn warts, sports injuries, and diabetic foot care. He starts with conservative treatment first — injections, orthotics, physical therapy — and only recommends surgery when it's truly the right option.

As a lifelong athlete himself, Dr. Bates understands what it's like to be sidelined by foot pain. That's why patients see him, not a rotating cast of providers, and why most new patients are seen the same day or next day. Walk-ins are welcome.

Dr. Bates completed his training at Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine in Miami Shores, Florida, followed by a two-year surgical residency.

Forefoot

The forefoot includes the toes and the ball of the foot, and it often bears the brunt of your daily activities. Podiatrists treat a wide range of forefoot conditions, such as bunions, hammertoes, neuromas, corns, and calluses. Whether caused by improper footwear, genetics, or repetitive stress, issues in the forefoot can cause discomfort and impact mobility. Our specialists are here to provide tailored care to get you back on your feet.

Midfoot

The midfoot forms the arch of the foot and provides essential support and stability during movement. Problems like flat feet, high arches, arthritis, and stress fractures can lead to pain or difficulty walking. Our podiatry team offers expert diagnosis and customized treatment options to relieve pain and restore proper function to your midfoot.

Hindfoot

The hindfoot includes the heel, ankle, and Achilles tendon—critical areas for movement and weight-bearing. Conditions such as plantar fasciitis, heel spurs, ankle sprains, and Achilles tendonitis are common sources of pain in this area. With a focus on advanced therapies and rehabilitation, our podiatrists help you recover and regain confidence in your stride.

Our experienced podiatrists provide comprehensive foot and ankle care, treating conditions such as plantar fasciitis, tendonitis, and skeletal injuries.

Plantar Fasciitis

Plantar fasciitis and plantar fibromas are conditions that causes pain in the sole of the foot and heel. The Plantar Fascia is a thick, web-like ligament that connects the heel to the front of the foot. If it is overused or stressed, it can become inflamed and cause severe discomfort and pain.

Heel pain, especially stabbing heel pain, is most often caused by plantar fasciitis, a condition that is sometimes also called heel spur syndrome when a spur is present. Heel pain may also be due to other causes, such as a stress fracture, tendonitis, arthritis, nerve irritation, or, rarely, a cyst.

Because there are several potential causes, it is important to have heel pain properly diagnosed, to distinguish between all the possibilities and determine the underlying source of your heel pain.

Plantar Fibroma

Low Dose X-ray Therapy is a non-invasive and precise approach to treating plantar fasciitis. It involves the application of low-energy x-rays directly to the affected area, stimulating the body's natural healing processes. The therapy focuses on reducing inflammation and promoting tissue regeneration, offering a potential breakthrough for those seeking more effective and lasting relief.

Tendonitis

Tendons, ligaments and muscles are essential components of your body, enabling basic movements and activities. It's crucial to remain informed about their condition and take proactive steps to maintain their health. If you require medical attention or guidance, don't hesitate to contact us today.

An Achilles tendonitis injury occurs when you overuse the tendon connecting your calf muscles to your heel bone. Typical symptoms encompass pain, swelling, stiffness around the heel, and loss of range of motion.

Runners and those in sports involving running, jumping, or abrupt movements might feel pain if they stretch their tendons too much. Specific actions can worsen a problem that frequently arises. To effectively address this condition, it is advisable to incorporate rest and modify activities. However, a precise diagnosis and suitable treatment plan from a medical professional are equally essential.

Skeletal Injuries

Bone-related conditions can range from minor discomfort to severe mobility challenges, requiring specialized attention and care. Our experienced podiatrists are equipped to diagnose and treat a variety of issues affecting your skeletal health. If you're experiencing pain or suspect a problem, don’t wait—reach out to us today for expert support and treatment.
