Sometimes, certain insurance plans require a pre-authorization before we can begin treatments. We will take care of the entire authorization process. After your consult with the doctor, we will submit the consult note to the insurance company for approval.
The number of treatment sessions you need will depend on your specific condition. Generally, treatments range from 5 to 12 sessions.
Patients have shown to have better results when treatments are delivered on consecutive days. Of course, we will sometimes run into weekends and holidays, but we prefer to have the treatment sessions as close together as possible.
Each treatment session is very quick. Most patients are in and out of the office within 5 minutes, with the actual treatment lasting about 2 minutes.
No, our treatments are completely painless. You won't see or hear anything during the session, though you might feel a slight vibration if the treated area is resting on the applicator.
Every patient responds differently. Some notice a reduction in pain midway through the treatment regimen, while for others, it may take up to a month to experience the full benefit.
We must take your x-rays before you can begin treatment. Our x-rays are used for measurements and treatment planning. We do not diagnose conditions based off of the x-rays, they are strictly for the planning process.
We ask that you do not over-use the body part while on treatment. A general rule of thumb is to just take it easy and give that area time to heal while we decrease the inflammation. Normal activity can be resumed one month post treatments.
